When you are renting a limo, you need to be careful since many things can go wrong with it. Just like dealing with most businesses, you have to be vigilant to avoid getting hassled by the contract terms. Many limousine companies hide fees into the contracts and it’s only when you get billed you’ll see these inflated fees. A limousine is a luxury vehicle that can cost a lot, depending on the model. That being said, you can easily get blindsided by hidden fees (which can add up to a lot) if you do not read the fine print.
See their license to operate
When renting a limousine, you need to see their license to operate. If you want, you can verify their license number by contacting the License & Permit Issuing Office at which the company is located. Before they get their license application approved, they need to submit many documents to the issuing office. This includes work permit, criminal background check, government-issued ID, schedule of rates, list of limousine owners, and many more depending on the state. When their license to operate is valid, you can now feel safe because they are regulated by the law.
Avoid companies which requires more than 50% deposit
If a company requires you to give 50% deposit, that isn’t necessarily bad. You can usually negotiate these things and get it down to around 20% depending on you. However, if the company is adamant that the 50% is needed before a reservation is made, you need to be wary of that company. While asking for a 50% is not that usual for rental companies, it is usually negotiable. The reason why depositing more than 50% is bad is because renting a limousine takes a long time. You have to have your reservation at months ahead of the actual date. If you give out a 50% deposit, it’s hard to get out of it. You can never foresee the future and there may be a time where you need to get it canceled.
The limo rental company should allow for inspection
The company should allow the customer to inspect the vehicle before the actual date of rental. If the limousine company has nothing to hide, they should be comfortable with the idea of someone inspecting their vehicle. It also allows the customer to see the make and model of the limousine in person. In case you did not like what you see in person, you can cancel your reservation or request for another vehicle.
These are only the first 3 things you need to look out for when renting a limousine. You can always do more if you want to. For more information regarding limousine rental, you can call us or visit this site often.
